Wednesday 21 May
Day 2 delves into the transformative power of technology, culture, and collaboration in the water sector. With sessions spotlighting digital innovation, Artificial Intelligence, and machine learning, alongside themes of diversity, accessibility, and First Nations knowledge, the day blends cutting-edge insights with inclusive approaches to sector challenges.
Streams will explore asset management strategies, water quality and treatment advances, and ways to improve environmental outcomes in rural, remote, and regional areas. The day also highlights global perspectives in the International Stream and actionable insights from the WSAA Stream.
Workshops and Panels throughout the day encourage peer collaboration and thought leadership, balancing technical depth with broader discussions on resilience, conservation, and community connection.
The evening culminates in the much-anticipated Ozwater'25 Gala Dinner and Australian Water Awards—a celebration of excellence, innovation, and leadership in the water sector. This flagship event promises an unforgettable evening of recognition, networking, and inspiration.
Thursday 22 May
Day 3 of Ozwater'25 brings a powerful close to the conference, spotlighting practical solutions, innovative technologies, and collaborative strategies for the water sector’s biggest challenges. With sessions on digital innovation, asset management, climate adaptation, and integrated water management, delegates will explore ways to deliver operational excellence and safeguard community and environmental outcomes.
Key themes include achieving a circular economy, enhancing customer experiences, and developing resilient strategies for extreme events. Streams and panels offer actionable insights and opportunities for collaboration, making it a day rich in thought leadership and innovation.
The conference concludes on a high note with Closing Networking Drinks—a relaxed setting to reflect on key learnings, strengthen connections, and celebrate shared achievements.

There has been no material increase in water allocation for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their engagement in water planning over the past decade. The linear model of extraction, production, consumption and disposal has come to an end. A circular economy is one that looks to minimise waste and make the most of resources. Wastewater treatment plants will be resource recovery centres with the resources – water, carbon, nutrients, energy being recovered and returned to the community.
